Why our thoughts are important

Let go of the thoughts you have written ACIM

We have close to 60,000 thoughts a day.

Many are the same…and many are similar in nature.

We have been led to believe that our thoughts are in reaction to the world around us.

And they are.

But more importantly, our thoughts actually influence the world around us.

What our thoughts teach us

Our thoughts teach us how we view the world.

No thoughts is the exception.

By observing our thoughts, we learn a lot about ourselves.

We are not our thoughts.

By looking at our thoughts from a third party perspective, we can take inventory of where we are.

And when we know where we are, we can decide which thought would better help us get to where we want to go.

3 Ways to Use Your Thoughts

How would your world look if you started with a clean slate and wrote the thoughts and beliefs you wanted, in order to create the life you wanted to live?

Here are 3 ways you can practice using your thoughts to move in that direction..

1.) Write them down.

Take 5 minutes out of the day and jot down your thoughts. No matter what they are… Seriously… just write them down.

We are going for awareness here…. not perfection.

Once we can get aware of our thoughts, we can then decide if we even truly believe what they are… and if we do believe them, how might we change that.

Because I am here to tell you that you can change your beliefs…which will change your thoughts.

2.) Affirmations.

Let’s say you recognize a thought of ‘I am tired.’

Let’s say you re word that: “I am feeling tired, but I am willing to feel energized.”

Recite that over, slowly, and with meaning.

Really breathe the words into your mind and body and allow yourself to feel the sensation of what it would feel like to be willing…. Almost like, you don’t know how it would happen, but you have faith in it… like the night before Christmas… you have no idea how Santa can deliver all those presents on one night but you know damn sure that he does it…and presents are under the tree.

Think of a time in your life when you weren’t sure how something was going to work out, but you just knew in your heart and your mind…and your body… that it was going to happen.

Tap into that.

And then say it over and over and see if you start to feel differently.

Then you can get your mind on board after you feel a little bit differently.

3.) Bring something into your life

Choose an animal you like…. or a specific flower you like.

Imagine this flower in your mind. Draw it down if you’re into that sort of thing.

Then keep a reminder of your item and come back to it in your mind over the course of the day.

Spend some time every day doing this.

See how it shows up in your world.

Maybe you see it as a bumper sticker on the back of a car.

Maybe someone posts it on their social media feed.

Be prepared for it to show up in your life.

And then pick something else!

Have fun with it!
