Intro to Intuitive Solutions to Addiction and Anxiety

This is one of my favorite topics!

Through all my research, I am a firm believer in intuitive solutions to addiction and anxiety…

I believe that our physical world, inclusive of our behaviors, symptoms and habits, are a physical manifestation of our internal conditions and our thoughts…

This means that all our experiences and beliefs reveal themselves in our bodies…

We live in a world of anxiety….and addiction…

We are actually addicted to our anxiety….

We have chemically conditioned our bodies to crave the response it gets from our bodies going through the act of anxiety….having the thoughts that lead to anxiety…and our bodies are so physically conditioned for anxiety that our minds check out… we run the same thoughts over and over again…and the anxiety comes on like a habit…. like brushing our teeth in the  morning…

How fit would you be if you have a fitness regime everyday for your whole life?

How tone would your muscles be?

We have conditioned our minds and our bodies to be in a state of anxiety….of fear….so this is where it lives and we no longer have to tell our bodies to react…they just do it… our thoughts are no longer our own…

The good news is we can make a different choice!

We can choose to feel the anxiety and let it take whatever form it needs to take… so many of us are afraid to feel sadness….or anger….or fear…because our minds have shut of these emotions, our bodies resort to other means of releasing this energy…

Some of us are addicted to anxiety, some are addicted to drugs and alcohol, but others are addicted to helping others… As a mom, it’s easy to fall into a space of helping others and we can actually become addicted to this behavior…Dr. Mona gave the example of the term “helicopter mom”… Feeling like your kids need you so much that you keep yourself in a place of control….

For me, it’s been way liberating to have the permission to release…my…crap! The first step is to acknowledge that we have crap! The best way to heal is to light the darkness… it cannot hide when we call it out… feel and work our way through it… Pain is a gift…
