The Law of Divine Compensation + Nelson Mandela
For the longest time, I thought this quote was by Nelson Mandela… lo and behold I find out, years later, it was written by Marianne Williamson, author of The Law of Divine Compensation:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented andfabulous?Actually, who are you NOT to be?You are a child of God.Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightenend about shrinking so that otherpeople won’t feel insecure around you.We are born to make manifest the glory that is within us.It is not in some of us,It is in everyone. And as we are liberated from our own fear,Our presence will indefinitely liberate others.
Marianne paid tribute to Nelson Mandela on her site with this prayer:
Thank you, Nelson Mandela, for all the gifts you gave, the light you shone into the world, and the magnificence of your example.
Dear God,Please hold Mandelain Your eternal armsand give him eternal peace.Surround him with loveand deliver him to bliss. And so it is.Amen

Why The Law of Divine Compensation?
I love the ideas and concepts in this book for a number of reasons…
The top reason is it is an education course in a loving and pleasing worldview…
Also, it gives me permission to be OK….
For me….
My intuition tells me that the world is a loving place…that God is a loving God…
That there is enough to go around and we can live in a place of peace…and abundance…
That we are abundant…
Experiences that happen outside of this idea, cause pain…. and for a long time, I justified this pain…
I made excuses for my pain…
The ideas in this book reinforce my intuition and allow me to grow a loving response….a loving internal condition…
And the world will respond with love…
They don’t teach these tools in school…
They teach respect and acceptance, etc…. and definitely helping others…
However, we are not reinforced with the idea and belief in abundance…
I am incredibly grateful for this education of un-learning…
