Ok, so may be we are still over a month away.
As a working mom who lives/works on her computer at her kitchen table, taking time to sweep the front porch today got me thinking.
“Maybe I will be prepared with Halloween costumes EARLY this year!”
It’s sometimes about the costumes, but mostly about getting candy…that my kids rarely get to eat because I hide it all and my husband and I sneak some treats all the way until Easter candy takes over.
So as to confirm that costumers have been adorable and treats have been enjoyed, here are some snippets from last year:
Charlie, 5 years old
Theodore, 3, as Dexter
Lollipops….all of them….at once
….at once….
What makes Halloween special?
Ok, so it’s totally the candy, but it’s also the beautiful time of year! If you live in Pittsburgh, like I do, you’re not sure if it’s going to rain, snow or be super hot out, so when choosing a Halloween costume for your kids you find yourself saying “do we have room for a coat under that?”
Even with weather in questions, it’s so fun to get dressed up and now that I have kids, it’s even more fun to experience Halloween with them. This from the woman who made her own sexy fire-fighter costumer in college…and her best friend’s sexy policeman costume…then we switched…we all know Halloween lasts 4 days in college…I guess that’s how it is now, too, with my daughter wearing one costume to school for her Halloween party and then a different costume, if she wants, to trick-or-treat.
